Cole Porter and the American Songbook

Born in Chicago and educated at the University of Michigan, Sachal Vasandani grew up in a household where all kinds of music were appreciated.  A charismatic talent with a deep-brewed voice, he quickly became a part of the jazz scene after moving to New York and has been tapped for a number of guest performances, most notably with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis.  This summer marks his Kalamazoo debut in a program of Cole Porter and other popular standards from the American Songbook.
